October Favorites – PLUS The Perfect Combo for Oily Skin!

October is oct-over! Does that mean we can decorate for Christmas now? Maybe??

This month, I acquired a few new ‘Magical’ and ‘Miracle’ skincare items that I am in LOVE with. And I found what I think is the best combo for keeping my face matte and covered all day long. If you want to see what I was loving- just keep reading!

I’ll get my absolute favorite thing out of the way- my new primer/foundation/powder combo!

I recently did an in depth review of the Magical Moringa from Lush, and it all starts with this. This primer creates a very smooth, hydrated, and matte canvas for the rest of the products to work with.

Next, I have been using the No Foundation Foundation Serum from Perricone MD. I totally expected to hate this product- and kind of wanted to at $60. But something in me needs to try every single foundation. So I got it and unfortunately am super in love with it. I am debating a full review post about it because it seems to be out of stock or not available everywhere online- almost as if it is being discontinued? I sure hope not because this provides the perfect amount of coverage, masks all pores and fine lines- and has the added benefit of Perricone’s stellar skincare. Maybe or maybe don’t look out for a full review soon- this stuff is seriously amazing!

And all month, I have been setting my entire face with the NYX Mineral “Set It & Don’t Fret It” Matte Finishing Powder. This is a super inexpensive loose powder that I have been liking better than any of my more expensive ones! This is perfect for  under eyes with a damp beauty blender, and all over the face to set it down. Something about the combo of these three has had my face lookin’ right all month long!

More skincare faves: the Garnier SkinActive Miracle Anti-Fatigue Eye Gel Cream and Lush Imperialis Moisturizer have been staples in my nighttime routine. I like to use the eye cream, which is really more like a gel consistency, as a sleeping mask for my eyes. I’ll apply it over other serums or creams, and in the morning my eyes really do look less tired! I don’t know how it works, but I like it! And Imperialis is BAE. I have been using this at night and my skin is so soft and balanced, smooth and bright. Some nights I will mix in my other bae, Maracuja Oil, for a little extra boost. It also has lavender in it, so a great scent for beddy bye time.

What’s that? Another skincare item? From Lush?! I discovered what is quite possibly my favorite facial cleanser this month- Herbalism from Lush. This cleanser has ground almonds to gently exfoliate, so I guess my only negative is that I can’t use it with my Clarisonic! But this gets my face so soft and clean without over drying. Highly recommend!

And lastly, a hair item! I have very fine limp hair, so anything to give it some oompf is on the top of my list. I have been loving the Living Proof Dry Volume Blast! It is like a hybrid between texturizer, volumizer, and dry shampoo. But it doesn’t feel like I even sprayed anything on. My hair isn’t sticky or weighed down. Just BIG! Similar to the DryBar Triple Sec 3-in1, but smells WAY better.

November will be full of discovering old loves and using up samples – I’m declaring it a no buy month! God help me..
