FINALLY Leslie here with a review of the super popular Milani Conceal and Perfect Foundation! You may have noticed Milani popping up in your local Target- which is super exciting. Their blushes are some of the best! So read on for my thoughts on this seemingly perfect foundation!
The Product
Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer, available in an impressive 15 shades on the Milani website for $10.
It’s only $6.99 at Target for some reason, but there are only 8 shades to choose from.
I picked mine up at Target, where the shade range was already picked through, so I ended up with shade 04 – Medium Beige. Which turns out, is hella dark on my pale self.
Although it is a little dark, I can make the shade work for me (I’ll probably start self tanning soon anyway!). And the lighter options, at least at Target, look too yellow. This one has the right undertone for me. I’ve learned to look for the word BEIGE in a color, as those tend to pull more pink. BEIGE. What a weird word.
ANYWAY, typical 1 ounce, in a nice glass bottle with a pump. Us gals love a pump!
The Claims
Combat under eye circles, redness and other skin imperfections with this full coverage, water-resistant foundation plus concealer in one. A no mess, no drip pump dispenses just the right amount of fluid needed to achieve a flawless look and works around the clock to keep skin looking naturally perfect!
The claim of a no drip pump rings true but only because this stuff isn’t ‘drippy’ in anyway. Its pretty thick, so any pump would probably be no drip!
It does not clarify whose skin it is best for, so I’m assuming all skin types? It is an oil and fragrance free formula, but there are some silicones present.
SPOILER ALERT- I didn’t test the waterproofness of this.
The Application
This sucker is FULL coverage- which I would accept no less from something to be claiming its uses as both foundation and concealer. Covered my freckies, my redness – basically any discoloration. I tried using a foundation buffing brush, the Artis Oval 7, and a damp beauty blender- all with very full coverage. It was not cakey either! Which surprised me because of how thick it seems at first.
The finish is natural, not matte at all, but not overly dewy. The damp beauty blender application, as expected, did offer the most dew to the finish. I did feel the need to powder to really set the product, as it seemed to stay a little tacky until setting. Depending on the powder you use to set, you can mattify, or keep it natural.
It mixed well with other foundations (after trying alone I mixed with some of my ‘too light’ foundations to get the shade right)- there were no issues with cooperation!
The Wear
There is no specific amount of time it claims to stay on, other than “all day”- but it does last a long time! All the days I tried this, I had no issues with fading or breaking down after 10 hours of wear. Depending on the products used over/under, there were some days I was a bit more oily towards the end. But a quick blot left my face looking fresh and the foundation undisturbed! If I could only have one I’d choose for my makeup to last ALL DAY, and deal with a blot here and there.
The Verdict
The hype is true, ya’ll! This is a lightweight, full coverage, natural finish product! It’s pretty no-nonsense because it slaps on so easy and stays all day! And at 7 bucks? It has become a go to for sure! GET YOU SOME GURL.
