I resisted. I said “Leslie- you do not need aNOTHER eyeshadow palette with these types of shades.”
But after seeing YouTube video after Youtube video about how this palette is just straight up life altering- I made the move. I said “As SOON as this is back in stock at Ulta, I’m going to use my 20% off coupon!”
I stalked this damn palette for a week- and one morning- it was back in stock! ADD TO CART, COUPON CODE, CHECK OUT.
So I got the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance eyeshadow palette. And folks- everything you’ve heard is TRUE.
The Product:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette, available at Ulta, Sephora, and anastasiabeverlyhills.com. Retails for $42 containing 14 shades, including 3 metallic, and a double sided brush.
The packaging is not my favorite, with the fabric velvety like exterior, but it does feel quite sturdy.
There are 14 shades total, 11 matte (which is more than I thought!) and 3 metallic in neutral and berry tones. It has pops of warm, but isn’t overly warm. Or cool. Its…neutral 🙂
Tempera – Velvety beige with an ultra-matte finish
Golden Ochre – Earthy yellow with an ultra-matte finish
Vermeer – Iridescent shell with a metallic finish
Buon Fresco – Antique lavender with an ultra-matte finish
Antique Bronze – Metallic sable with a satin finish
Love Letter- Raspberry with an ultra-matte finish
Cyprus Umber- Dark coffee with an ultra-matte finish
Realgar- Brick with an ultra-matte finish
Warm Taupe- Earthy gray with an ultra-matte finish
Venetian Red- Crimson with an ultra-matte finish
Red Ochre- Sienna with an ultra-matte finish
Primavera- shimmery gold dust with a metallic finish
Burnt Orange- deep orange with an ultra-matte finish
Raw Sienna- neutral amber with an ultra-matte finish
Swatches & Application:
These shadows are SO pigmented. They blend amazingly- especially with the included brush, which usually is a throwaway in palettes.
Here are all the swatches- and there is honestly no shade I wouldn’t use. The shadows are pretty velvety and powdery, but there isn’t a lot of fallout.
This photo doesn’t really do the lighter shades justice- so here is a close up of the ones on the left side of the palette! Vermeer & Primavera are what I would consider the perfect shimmer shades- no glitter, just silky and shimmery.
The Wear:
These shadows did not disappoint on the lid. Stayed all day, no creasing or fading. Which is really all you want out of a shadow!
The Verdict:
Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
I’m sorry I waited so long to try you, beautiful baby angel. If you think you have all the palettes you need YOU DON’T.
YOU NEED THIS.

That sounds like my kind of reasoning when buying an eyeshadow palette! ‘No I don’t need it’….YouTube videos, reviews, blogs later ‘SOLD’ 😂😂 great post x
